Connected and automated mobility (CAM) company Zenzic has launched the third year of its CAM Scale-Up Programme.
The programme offers selected startups and SMEs the chance to verify their CAM solutions at CAM Testbed UK locations in real-time and in controlled environments. As a result, the companies are able to deliver better products and get to market faster.
Participating companies will be given access to a share of £500,000 of UK government funding, access to CAM Testbed UK facilities, technical and business assistance with access to corporate partners, investment from Zenzic’s Plug and Play delivery partner and its global investment accelerator platform, and Zenzic’s insights from the UK Connected and Automated Mobility Roadmap to 2030.
“We are excited to launch this year’s Zenzic CAM Scale-Up programme,” says Mark Cracknell, Zenzic’s CAM Programme Director.
“The successful start-ups and SMEs of the programme, whose new and novel solutions have addressed real-world challenges within the ecosystem, and the continued collaboration with the world-leading CAM Testbed UK, demonstrates the UK’s reputation as a global leader in CAM. As the UK Government rolls out investment for the commercial deployment of CAM, this year’s programme will support these ambitions by giving more start-ups and SMEs the opportunity to accelerate their products to market”.
Last year, the scheme supported six successful CAM technologies.
Albora Technologies, for example, provides solutions for navigating challenging environments through high-accuracy geolocation technology. Meanwhile, Exeros Technologies looks to improve insurance savings and reduce accident rates through live GPS tracking.
Grayscale AI uses neuromorphic software to provide human-like precision to navigate roads. R4DAR Technologies is creating innovative radar solutions to improve autonomous cars while Route Konnect has built an edge processing solution to provide in-depth insights into urban mobility and Xtract is improving how car insurance claims are made with a connected platform.
“The programme continues to demonstrate that startups and SMEs experience 9 to 12 months of product development acceleration providing credibility for future investment and international exposure. As a result of being involved in the programme, a number of SMEs have gone on to secure significant investment and been accepted into other investment and mobility programmes,” says Kieran Borrett, Head of Plug and Play.
