e-Moped manufacturer Silence has revealed a new range-topping model, the S01+.
Based on the existing S01 Connected, the new model has equivalent performance to a 125cc motorbike with 5.6 and 7.5 kW motors. It can hit 30 mph in 3.9 seconds before hitting a limited top speed of 62 mph.
The S01+ also has adjustable suspension, ventilated disc brakes, a sport mode, and a “push-to-pass” function that allows the top speed to be temporarily increased to 68 mph.
Connectivity is provided through the Silence app which allows control of important settings such as checking the charge status, activating the remote lock/ unlock, and route planning through embedded Google Maps.
“Silence is a stylish and practical alternative to combustion bikes, whether you’re an individual, or business user,” says Tony Lewis, co-founder of Silence UK.
“Now with S01+, we’re adding extra sports style, for those who want their Silence to stand out from the crowd. Production of the S01+ is available in limited numbers so it’s very much first come first served!”
The S01+ is the sixth model in Silence’s electric lineup, which includes a range of personal and business two-wheelers. All of the models feature Silence’s “click and go” removable and portable lithium-ion batteries. The cells can be charged through any 240V socket and, according to Silence, can reduce running costs by 80% compared to ICE-powered scooters.
The mopeds also come with a two-year manufacturer warranty, a three-year battery warranty, and two years AA roadside assistance cover.
Prices start from £6,795 in the UK, though the company hasn’t said when buyers will receive their vehicles.
The company was founded in Barcelona in 2012 and has since grown to a 165-person team that can produce nearly 10,000 scooters per year. It is also the only electric two-wheeler manufacturer in Spain and also designs and manufactures its own batteries and battery management system.
