California-based Fisker Inc. (NYSE: FSR) – a sustainable electric vehicles and advanced mobility solutions group – has announced Fisker by Hand: OCEAN Concept Collection, a series of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) of original pen-on-paper sketches from the hand of Founder and Chief Designer, Henrik Fisker. The NFT auctions will allow participants to partake in a charitable endeavour.
In the future, NFT owners will enjoy exclusive invitations to bespoke events curated by Fisker.
As part of the first-ever NFT sale, Fisker is donating 50% of primary sales to non-profit organsations supporting corporate ESG principles.
They will be auctioned through the FTX.US marketplace using Solana cryptocurrency on the Solana blockchain, a proof-of-stake blockchain with far less environmental impact than a proof-of-work blockchain.
The auction will start at 5:00 p.m. PST on Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2021, and end 24 hours later.
Henrik Fisker, Fisker Inc. CEO, says: “I’m always looking for ways to strengthen our relationship with our customers, fans and stakeholders. I’m a car designer by heart: I still draw my designs with a pen on paper, where I’m able to create a unique motion that leads to emotional lines, so the design ultimately feels like it’s created by a human, not a robot.”
The Fisker Ocean will commence production on November 17, 2022, at the carbon-neutral factory of Fisker’s manufacturing partner, Magna-Steyr, in Graz, Austria.
The Fisker Ocean Ultra and Fisker Ocean Extreme will deliver an estimated 340 and 350-plus miles of range, respectively.
Fisker worked extensively with battery supplier CATL, using two different chemistries, to maximise performance and minimize cost for the Fisker Ocean line-up.
