NIO has released the new smart SUV ES8 with longer range at a company event in the Chinese city of Shenzhen. It features a 160kW permanent magnet motor and a new liquid-cooled battery pack that offers the car a range of 580kms.
The ES8 also features the NOMI Mate 2.0, a digital assistant that boasts an industry-first circular AMOLED (active-matrix organic light emitting diode) display.
NIO says the EV also comes with some advanced features such as smart charging port cover and NFC key card.
William Li, Founder, NIO’s Chairman and CEO, says: “After five years of rapid growth, NIO has become more mature in corporate operations, product quality, sales performance, and user experience. We are very confident about the upcoming 2020.”
Delivery of the ES8 is expected to begin in April 2020.
