Pod Point has become Kia’s official home charge point provider, with a new two year partnership to support the roll-out of the forthcoming e-Niro.
As part of the agreement, Pod Point will install smart charging units for the manufacturer’s customers across the UK.
The e-Niro has a range of 282 miles on a single charge, and once it arrives in dealerships later this year, will join the existing Kia plug-in line-up of Niro PHEV, Optima Sportswagon PHEV, and Soul EV – plus new Soul EV due in a year or so.
Available are Pod Point’s 3.6 kW, 7 kW, and 22 kW home charge points, with Pod Point having a presence in all Kia showrooms from April – when the e-Niro comes to the UK.
Helen Mutter, General Manager Planning and Programmes of Kia Motors, said: “As a brand we want to ensure that our plug-in hybrid and electric vehicle customers have access to the best homecharging solution to maximise the enjoyment of their car.
“Pod Point impressed us with the quality of smart homechargers and the team’s commitment to excellent customer service. We’re looking forward to working with them as we roll out one of the most ambitious electrification strategies in the industry.”
Erik Fairbairn, Pod Point CEO and founder, said: “Kia Motors have announced some of the most exciting mass market EVs that we’re due to see launched in 2019 and we’re delighted to be providing homecharge solutions for their customers.”
